July 16th 2022 - HAZEFEST '22

HAZEFEST returns again on July 8th, promising another remarkable festival experience (on Hayes School's Gadsden Lawn!) With music of course at the heart of the event - featuring a wealth of talent from current and former Hayes students, staff, parents and friends - and 8 previous years of experience staging this event, Hayes PTA and HayesCreates are once again curating a day that has something for everyone; all ages, all tastes!

On the Main Stage

GODS AND MONSTERS

Gods&Monsters (6.30pm to 7.20pm)

Hazefest stalwarts GODS&MONSTERS are back with another chaotic mix of crowd-pleasing classics, left-field deep-cuts and boundless energy for all-ages. With Mr Brett returning to the line-up alongside Dunn and Gunning, and the rock-solid rhythm section of Luke, Freddy and Elliot once again keeping things together, G&M are guaranteed to get the Gadsden crowd bouncing, dancing, arm-waving and singing along. Headlining the event for the first time, expect the usual fireworks and even a touch of sartorial effort this year!

THE NIGHT GARDEN

The Night Garden (5.55pm to 6.15pm)

THE NIGHT GARDEN have come together for one night only, especially for Hazefest 2023. 6 highly talented musicians from across several year-groups, they are promising a highly eclectic set of pop-rock classics from across the decades.

Blue Circle Band (4.55pm to 5.40pm)

The artists formerly known as Community Service, now with the much more Hayes-appropriate name BLUE CIRCLE BAND, return to Hazefest following their hugely popular set last year. BCB are everything Hazefest is about - comprised as they are of former Deputies/Gods&Monsters front man - and former Hayes Deputy Head - Paul Foster, two more former Deputies in the shape of Joe Krywko and Max Dickerson, two current Hayes parents, Will Taylor and Jack Hayes and a new addition this year - Hazefest co-founder and legend Mr Mark Tucker! They began jamming together two years ago and are guaranteed to impress with their musical tightness in the early evening sunshine!

EVERFALL

Everfall (4.15pm to 4.45pm)

EVERFALL were a late addition to the Hazefest line up last year, but they impressed everyone with their fearless interpretations of several rock standards. This year they are back with a slightly altered line-up and an extended set, promising a modern take on some classic songs and a guarantee to raise the decibel count!

BEN & IZZI

Ben Martin and Izzi Veisy (3.20pm to 4.00pm)

Ben Martin and Izzi Veisy have become something of a Hayes music institution over the last few years. After honing their skills with countless appearances at our bi-annual Musicfest nights they have established themselves as a nu-folk duo of the highest order. Expect stripped back anthems and plenty of special guests from the Hayes music community.

twenty-two

twenty-two (2.45pm to 3.05pm)

twenty-two - the lower case is essential, apparently - are some of our most musically talented Year 10 students. Having made their debut at Musicfest in February, Hazefest sees them expanding their repertoire and playing a full set for the first time. With influences as wide-ranging as Britpop and Music Theatre, expect a diverse and intriguing set from this up and coming new group.

JAMSESH

Jamsesh (2pm to 2.30pm)

It's been a career-defining year for JAMSESH, having lost their mentor and rudder Mr Tucker when he moved schools in January, but now operating as a fully student-run co-operative, with a line up that covers all key-stages, this year could be their strongest showing yet. Expect the usual insane amount of instruments on stage!

REFRESHMENTS

As always, all your liquid requirements will be realised at the FULLY LICENSED PTA BAR, selling a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, while the catering this year comes from local pizza supremos CIAO PIZZA! There will also be an ice-cream van on site during the afternoon. You can of course bring your own refreshments and picnics and over 18s are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.

We are super excited to have Ciao Pizza on site for Hazefest 2023!

HAZEFEST is for EVERYONE. There will be performers from all key stages in the school so we really want to see the whole school community reflected in the audience too!

SO HOW DO I GET TICKETS?

Tickets for HAZEFEST 2023 are £10 adults and £7 for students 18 and under. We also have a 2 adults and 2 under 18s family ticket for £25.00. They can only be purchased in advance online (see the link directly below - there is a small handling fee for this). HAZEFEST is a family event - all ages are most welcome!
